Since 2006, as the Director of Source Human Resources I have been working with senior executives and owners of small to medium sized enterprises mostly in Victoria but some with interstate operations. Typically my clients are in manufacturing, industrial or commercial industries employing thirty to two hundred people across several disciplines, usually including Operations, Sales and Marketing, Accounting,Technical, Logistics etc.

These clients have been frustrated by by the lack of genuine service and cost effectiveness when it came to implementing one of the most critical  decisions in business - the hiring of new professional or executive staff.

Many employers in this sector have tried to be economical by using the do it yourself approach but regret it when they discover how much management time it consumes and how expensive it can be if they make a mistake. Some have turned to the well known recruitment firms  but have been unhappy with their impersonal approach  and cost structure.

A serious concern expressed to me by my clients is the intense threat from overseas competitors which means there is no room for hiring mistakes. To survive, they have to be interested in more than qualifications and experience. Among other things they need confidence that a prospective employee will fit into the company culture and adopt the same values and attitudes that they rely on to meet this competition.

I created Source Human Resources to work in this sector because I knew from my own experience how important these considerations can be and that they were not being addressed by the mainstream recruitment industry.
