Frequently Asked Questions
Can you help us with our interview process?
I would be happy to provide interview coaching or facilitate interviews with your candidates.
What about psychological testing?
A full regime of psychological testing delivered by accredited practitioners is available. Guidance can be provided to select the most appropriate tests and level of reporting.
Why should I pay a full fee when you probably just get someone off your "books"?
Unless specifically engaged to simply do a file search Source Human Resources never relies solely on a date base to source candidates. I treat every assignment individually and use all recruitment techniques to deliver the best possible short list of candidates from which to make a final selection.
Why do you place so much importance on Human Resources experience?
A Human Resources professional with broad industry experience has a far greater appreciation of position requirements, organisational dynamics, leadership issues, individual behaviour at work and career management than a commercial consultant without such a background. Understanding these issues helps in making considered recommendations about a candidates suitability in areas not covered by qualifications and experience but which will be critical to their integration and future success in the company.
How long does an assignment take?
Depending on the scarcity of the skills and personal qualities mix it usually takes four to six weeks from taking the assignment brief to making an employment offer. The new employee of course will generally be required to give notice before starting.
What if the new person doesn't work out?
While we do everything we can to ensure that the final selection is successful we can't avoid the fact that on rare occasions this may happen. Should it occur within the specified guarantee terms, I will immediately commence sourcing a replacement without cost to the client.
Print media or online advertising?
Using a reputable and appropriate online advertising site is a cost effective and now mainstream method of attracting candidates who are in the job market. Serious job seekers always review this medium. Print media is a more expensive and somewhat riskier use of the advertising budget. It can be effective in reaching the potential candidate who is not actively seeking a change but habitually scans the market in the weekly press, particularly advertisements within the news sections. A strategy for each assignment is devised and agreed with the client.
